Hello! My name is April Stephens and I am a wife, a mother, and am passionate about patient interaction. I am originally from Pumpkintown, SC ( yes it's a real place) but lived in Greenville, SC for most of my adult life. My husband John and I moved to Charlotte in August of 2018. We have a daughter, Sadie, who attends The College of Charleston. I first became interested in dentistry in 2005. I attended Tri-County Technical College where I completed the Expanded Duty Dental Assistant Program.
I began working as a dental assistant in 2007. While I was fascinated with the clinical portion of dentistry, my main passion was patient care. I soon learned I excelled at putting patients at ease, getting to know them and their families, and making a trip to the dentist feel like a visit to old friends. I moved into an administrative role in 2014. I love being the smiling face that our patients see as they enter and leave our practice. While it has certainly been challenging, I have also learned the intricacies of insurance and work hard at making sure our patients maximize their dental benefits. Outside of work I enjoy writing, traveling, and listening to music. My husband tells me I am a connoisseur of comedy and love to make people laugh. My favorite lyric, and philosophy on life, is summed up by my favorite band, The Grateful Dead. "Nothing left to do but smile, smile, smile"
